New Habits to Adapt to After Covid-19

The quarantine caused by the Covid-19 virus forced all of us to change our daily routines, something we were not prepared to face.
Even so, we have tried to take responsibility for the measures adopted to reduce positive cases of the virus and, in this way, return somewhat to the life we had before the pandemic.
But it is important to know that once the government gradually begins to lift confinement measures across the country, daily life will not be the same and we will have to adapt to new habits.
As we adopt these new habits, it is good to keep an optimistic attitude and be able to make a change with strong resilience, since these new actions will help us move forward.
Among the new habits we must embrace is hygiene. Even as we slowly return to our daily lives, we know that viruses can be controlled with vaccines, antivirals or isolation measures, but they cannot be eliminated.
Therefore, proper handwashing, the correct way to cough or sneeze, and social distancing are measures we will keep in place for a long time.
One positive thing we experienced during the quarantine was the adoption of remote work at many companies; we noticed that some tasks we used to do from the office could be done from home.
For many people, this way of working will likely become part of everyday life, making it a new practice we must adapt to.
Another habit we have begun to live during the pandemic is the use of technology. It is not new in our lives, but we have made much better use of it.
Video call applications such as Skype or Zoom became essential in our daily routine, not only for work but also to stay closer to family and friends.
We also use it for online shopping, since many stores and supermarkets have gradually shifted their customer service to be more digital.
Express delivery apps have also made life easier for many because of the vehicle restrictions set by the government.
It could be said that many of the activities we used to do before can now be done from our homes thanks to technology.
The way we spend our money has changed somewhat during this time, and we realized that maintaining economic stability is necessary to get through the pandemic.
And we should think of it not only for this period but as a new habit to maintain good financial health.
Avoiding panic buying and purchasing only what is necessary; managing money wisely can become an important part of our lives after the crisis.
Likewise, we have to get used to a new way of socializing. We may travel less, visit shopping malls less often or attend fewer social events, or we may have to follow strict health guidelines to take part in those activities.
Equally important is our health, but not only our physical health, since during quarantine we noticed that we must also take care of our mental health.
Keeping our minds busy, exercising and maintaining a capacity for innovation can be useful to us in the future.
On top of all this, we have gained greater environmental awareness: we are polluting less than we did before Covid-19.
By using our cars less, avoiding crowded places and not holding mass events that generated pollution, we have gradually reduced our environmental impact.
One way or another, the arrival of this new virus has changed not only the way we lived but also the way we think. It is up to us to learn to live differently, or to change nothing and go back to living the same way.
